Fusion system is actually ok, it's a little tricky to learn, but when you do, it will go very smooth. Aside from that I find that the biggest lack in the game are progressivly overpowered opponents, such as Heishin, Seto etc..

I used to own that game many moons ago and got rid of it damn quick because of the fact it had jack in common with the OCG.

Konami got the hint after DOTR and that ultra bad RTS YGO game on the Gamecube and started focusing on the card game on the GBA and up.

The PSP YGO games are top notch, I highly recommend them.

The DS YGO games are decent too aside from some cards bad mechanic programming , they don't work as described but its just a few.

You can give them a quick search to see what cards are broke.
