Oh if I lost my HDD contents microshit would of gotten a very nasty call.

    But ya

    http://linuxmint.com/

Should give it a try Grouch in Virtualbox, pretty snazzy.

I prefer the Cinnamon and Xfce desktops.

So far I found alternatives to shit I use in windows on Linux.

Ya, you clearly don't know just how unstable ReactOS is do you?

Go ahead and use that if you want freezing and crashing with every random action you make.

    Research is your friend.

Also Grouch ReactOS is "still" in alpha, been in alpha for YEARS............actually its always been alpha.

But ya its not a viable choice for a main OS at this moment in time.

haven't really checked it out for a couple months so I didn't know if anything had been changed or improved I just remember checking it out and it sounded like a good alternative to MS.

Its a windows clone, tries to replicate the NT architecture.

You are better off using wine in linux to run your windows programs.

    It works for most stuff.

I'm just unsure if my laptop is powerful enough to handle doing that if it can that would be a viable alternative to MS.

I run Virtualbox on my shitty laptop, I supposedly don't have visualization acceleration to speed it up but it works.

    Same I think.

I only run emulators/visual novels and media so no actual PC game testing.

Mednafen PSX runs great and Reicast runs decently so I'm good, PCSX2 runs decent on some lighter games.

Psychic Force Complete runs sweet in PCSX2, just not the port of Psychic Force 1 since thats just a PSX game, its a lil choppy but Psychic Force 2012/2012 EX run great on the collection.

Wish I had a beefy rig so I could play Rogue Galaxy some more, game is godly.

Hit some garage sales on the way home, going to end up profiting about $150 after Ebaying stuff, not bad. Almost didn't stop, lol.
