I was going to watch angel beats quite a while ago but I was having trouble with the subs not sure if it was my media player or the actual subs that were giving me trouble.

I have the latest codecs but I don't use mpc I use Km player and have for years the version I use is they're most stable the newest version fucks up on my system not sure why but I've tried it 3 or 4 times I had to go back and re-install the older version.

MPC HC is the definitive player on windows, the best player for anime as well.

Most simple and robust player I have ever used too.

Subs were messing up how? You may want to enable or disable realtime subs or try switching tracks.

Anime subbers prefer MPC HC and I see why, its not crap like the rest, VLC is pretty damn bad but at least thats on multiple OSes.
