In the US, it depends on where. AFAIK there is no Federal Law, and in Nevada(Las Vegas,Carson City,Reno) they are supposed to have a yearly checkup and be licensed. Do your research about where you want to go because it is illegal in some states and regulated in others.does prostitution result in a fine or jail time?

I'm not 100% sure. Some states have different laws so I am guessing there is no Federal law. Similar to marijuana law, Obama ordered Feds to follow state laws in marijuana cases since it's not illegal in all states.
