The entire point of speedrunning is to beat the game quick.

Most of the popular pokemon runs are glitch free. There is one run that lasts like 5 seconds for the originals though.

I don't personally consider glitching cheating, I think it's a different way of running the game.

I remember watching SGDQ and the guy running Pokemon Blue glitched, really amazing stuff.

If you aren't using any codes (even if the original game had some built in) and you aren't using save states or glitches that exist because of emulation then there's nothing wrong with taking advantage of bad coding...I sometimes take advantage of things in retail games. Not always though, like in MP you can get kicked for glitching If I didn't have horrible lag I would never even bother with that though tbh.
