Default Wild Arms (original) for PS1 - Crashing when resupplying ammunition

So I'm using ePSXe and the rom supplied at coolrom works fine, apart from one issue.

Those of you familiar with the game will know that one of the charactars has a gun, which he uses for special attacks, instead of abilities using mana. This requires ammunition.
Ammunition can be restored either with a fairly rare item or visiting a guy in town, who will give you a price and then you're supposed to say "yes" or "no".
However, with my issue, the box in which yes and no would be displayed is empty and the game stops responding.

Sorry if I haven't provided enough information, I'm new here.

epsxe is not what its cracked up to be, have you tried this with any other emulators?

Give this emu a try, you can use your memory card file from epsxe,

    pSX_1_13.rar

give this a try too if you feel like it, its a little over whelming at first but it is much better than epsxe,

and here is the PSX bios ready for Retroarch,

    Retroarch PSX Bios.7z
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

Don't dish out on poor ePSXe the emulator is perfectly fine it's the use of it that sometimes gets lost as it is highly configurable that does get some users understandably lost off, that is not to say it is not good or as good as other emulators it is still one of the best emulators out there for enhanced PSX emulation, just because some find it hard to setup it is not to say is not that good

For the config we have a nice little site called http://psxdatacenter.com/ (seems to be down at time of posting ) anyway that will help there and guess what if a game runs in another emulator other than ePSXe he does note this, though what does not run in ePSXe is few and far between.

    EDIT: psxdatacenter is back up

I tried to get PSX to work but I just can't get it to either convert the .bin into a .cdz (Always gets to 305mb out of 620mb and then stops responding) or load up to anything other than the old memory card screen, even with the bios stuff from the 3rd thing you linked.
(It's telling me it wants 1001 but the links are all 5000+?)

As for Libreto, even downloading that thing is daunting for me.

I looked on the datacentre you linked and it should work fine with my configuration
