Default Unable to save in Arc the Lad 1 (EPSXE)

Hello guys... I've been using EPSXE for a long time, but this is the first time I have a problem Im unable to solve by myself (or Googling, of course). I'm playing Arc the Lad I, but when I try to save my progress in-game this message appears: "There are no available files". I have only one blank space in my first memory pack, so I switched to the second one (that's empty), but there's no use, I'm unable to save. Any ideas of what could be happening?

Make sure digital pad is configured correctly as well as analog before booting the bios

Then attach memcard 2 to slot 1 instead of slot 2 then try booting the bios again, I would try formatting the memcard from there
I would also copy the black memcard after formatting it if it needed formatting or just copy it anyway just so you have a blank one ready for any other games if you run out of space again, you can change memcards though as much as you like but always best to do that before booting a game up and try and use Slot 1 mostly as some games do not support slot 2 and it is a good idea to keep at least one memcard empty to you can copy it for use in another game

It is a good idea to start with a blank memcard for those games as the saves can be used in Arc Arena and possibly in the next game/s Arc the Lad 2 and 3 not sure if the save can be used in 2 and 3 never got through the game but they can be used in Arena

Thanks for the quick reply! I did what you said and created a totally new memcard and put it in slot 1, but sadly the issue is still on. I'm having no trouble saving other games, maybe is a bad dump? I'll try with another rom, maybe is that.

I doubt its a iso/disc image issue, I suggest trying another emulator.

here is the bios files for retroarch, they go in the system folder in the retroarch folder

Lets have a look at your memcard, zip it up and attach it to a new reply I will see if it has the same issue for me also with your memcard

And yes saving works perfect in ePSXe I played it myself some time back

I will download the game later and test it myself, I take it you got the disc image from the main site?

I will try and resolve this for you

Well, I downloaded a different rom (although I'm not sure is a "new dump" as it claimed) and the same issue remains. It's so weird, I don't want to play it in other emulator, cause I love EPSXE enhacements u.u

    http://redump.org/disc/672/

Does your dump match the crc32 hash on redump?

you can either open the archive and see there or use something like hashcalc and get it.

Not sure where I have to search for that value, Warrior.
I tried the other Psx emulator (Psx 1.13) and the problem is still there. This is weirder every minute u.u

If you are using ePSXe, it's very simple to make a new memory card.

    Launch ePSXe
Click Config menu on the top bar.
    Click Memory Cards
Click the box to the right that says Select.
Type example.mcr in the File Name field.

And that will give you a new totally blank memory card.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.
