I'm not sure what you're talking about specifically. I mentioned me playing SF as an example of a long time gamer that doesn't really play fighters.

I'm just gripin that people mostly preferin street fighter over KOF , Fighters are fun if you are fighting someone equally skilled as you , if they are below or above you it kinda sucks, either beating the shit outa yer opponent or getting your ass handed to ya, not fun either way

I can understand why they seem boring to you, after all its a character on the left and a character on the right doing a set list of moves but its a lil more than that , when playing against a equally good person and in the right mindset it becomes something of a chess match, baiting and waiting for opportunities to unleash large doses of pain upon your opponent , satisfying

Ya street fighter came first (the beginning of the Traditional fighting game) but technically, karate champ on NES came first, crapcom tried to sue em for copyright infringement and of course lost but that was the beginning of it all
