Default Problem running FF 7&8 on ePSXe

Hi I'm having a similar problem trying to get Final Fantasy 7 and 8 to work. The emulator works, I downloaded all the stuff for that, but when I try to run a game it closes down epsxe. I have 7-zip and have extracted the files (I think) I don't know about the other stuff as I'm a total novice when it comes to this stuff!

Before answering your question, I'll need to know a few things:

    1. What version of ePSXe are you using?
    2. What all plugins and BIOs do you have for the emulator?
    3. What's your PC's OS?
    4. What kind of graphics card/specs does it have?
    5. Does it give you any type of error?

Whenever you answer -- I'll be here ASAP to help.

    (E) versions are copy protected you can either grab the (U) version or you can crack the (E) version by auto patches (you still require the patch files) or patch the disc image directly or via sbi files attached to a CD-Rom plugin like P.E.oP's

When extracting the downloaded game file you should get a .img, .bin or possibly .iso file; this is the one you want to load with your emulator (if you get a .cue or .ccd file with it, try loading that first). If you get a .ecm file after the first extraction then you'll need to extract that as well using a different program. Personally I recommend using ECM Tools to do it; just extract it into its own folder, and drag the .ecm file onto unecm.exe to extract your game.

Also as Zorlon mentioned above check to see if your game has [E] or [U] in the name; generally speaking, there's no real reason to use the copy protected [E] versions (AFAIK; someone correct me if I'm wrong please).

"I think that the problem with this video is it is highly derivative of many popular bands within the genre. Although when viewed on its own merits, it does have a deeper groove. However what it has in groove, it lacks in originality. One can't help but be reminded of such bands as Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Suicidal Tendencies and other bands that bear the mantle of so called "Alternative Rock". One is even reminded of Lorie Anderson when she wore curlers. Hehehmhm! This video speaks less to the heart and more to the sphincter. In closing, I think Korn would do well to learn more from -"

Other languages is the usual reason.

Not with Final Fantasy games as they only have one language per release so others are tagged [G] or [F] to indicate the language but those are European versions so still [PAL] [E] as the E stands for Europe rather than English

I stand by my comment, usually people want to play PAL versions because of other languages. Generally speaking.

You think it's probable that OP is using a PAL version of the game? I assumed it may be emulator related, however I could be horribly wrong.
