Atlético tried to get it the same way they've been successful this season, through the strategy and a solid defense but fortunately it wasn't enough this time around. After 3 years in a row blocked in the semis, we finally made it. As I said on Facebook, I'd welcome it being taken away from Qatar for any reason. The climate means they'll almost certainly have to move the tournament from its usual summer fixture, the country is using borderline slave labour to construct its new facilities, and LGBT fans are unlikely to even be allowed into the country as things stand (on that note, I'm not keen on Russia hosting it in 2018 either. lol@football trying to take a stand against homophobia when LGBT fans have effectively been banned from attending the World Cup for two tournaments running). I'm not normally one to get up in arms about this stuff, but the fact that it was even given to Qatar to begin with is utterly farcical in every way, and I genuinely hope that these allegations end up being completely true.
Also kind of hoping that Japan would win the revote, as it's quite possible that I'll be there in 2022.
