Fresh PS3 titles are generally cheaper retail...yeah that makes no sense imo. Older stuff is all over the place, but you guys get fairly recent stuff discounted a lot more quickly retail.
PS4 I don't take much notice, but the retail prices I've seen for a few things are probably around $100. Same with xbone I think.
But there aren't many titles for next gen really.
The 2 consoles are still about $50 difference in price but many places have bundles now:
PS4 you get 1 or 2 games (fifa seems common) plus 1 controller and a hdmi cable. Xbone you get 4 games (titfail, forza, fifa and something else), 1 controller and kinect.
Spoiler warning:
I suspect sonys marketing strategy (if they even have one) in Oz has always been a little retarded, generally speaking. Dunno what panels they use in their tvs now but back when they were using samsung panels their tvs were more expensive than the samsung equivalents. It's like they don't bother about being competitive.
Spoiler warning:
Yeah, they sold off the PC division and took a loss on it, and also sold their shares in Square Enix. The PS4 is actually making them money right now and that's the only thing they have going for them. The TV division is all but under, in fact I think they're actually going to give up their line (don't quote me on that, but I could swear I read the other day they were bowing out of the TV market). That 3D tech that they pushed so hard really blew up in their faces.
I think the only things that are still profitable are their Movie and Music label - they do own Spider-Man and that made serious bank a few weeks ago. Not sure about the music label, but I think they still have some pretty good recording artists under them.
