    Default incorrectly packaged sf zero[j]?

    hi there,

    i downloaded the following roms;

    http://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Plays...Zero_(J)/53296 &&& http://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Plays...ro_2_(J)/53294 &&& http://www.emuparadise.me/Sony_Plays...ro_3_(J)/53295

    the file appears to be packaged incorrectly, i ahve used pakkiso to pakk the ecms, the file came with a .cue file then multiple .bin files and 1 .7z file, which appears to be the base game file. by this i mean that when i used isobuster, it read the .cue file, the files were listed on the left, there was a ''street fighter zero''[iso] under the heading of 'track1' with all the other tracks on the same branch[not as sub-branches], here is an image of this;

    http://s7.postimg.org/61j7ksbiz/base.jpg

    here following pakkiso 0.4 =

    http://s10.postimg.org/pp3ukl5c9/pakk.jpg

    here it is in isobuster 3.3[using .cue in folder] =

    http://s18.postimg.org/ta9qsmza1/isobust1.jpg

    http://s27.postimg.org/4g92j5jpv/isobust2.jpg

    the issue is that in-game it is only using the sound files found in the branch and sub-folders of 'track 1' as follows=

    http://s23.postimg.org/6q05083rf/iso...ontentsbin.jpg

    am i messing up here? or is the rom incorrectly packaged? what to do . . .

    additonaly, the other sfzero[jap] seem also to have the same issue, albeit with 1 track '.bin' outside of the .7z within' the [extracted]folder

    additonaly, i right click the upper most branch/folder ''cd'' and extract raw>.bin when using isobuster

    also;

    epsxe 1.9.0

    scph1000[jap]

    pete's opengl2 driver 2.9

    P.E.Op.S. Dsound Audio Driver 1.9

    P.E.Op.S. CDR Driver 1.9

    As far as I can see the disc image is perfectly fine

    P.E.Op.S. Dsound Audio Driver 1.9 is the issue as ePSXe 1.7.0 to 1.9.0 only has CDDA (Compact Disc Digital Audio) playback enabled via the ePSXe Core PSU sound driver so as soon as you use any other sound driver you are also disabling CDDA playback.

    There is a second option though, as there is a modded version of ePSXe 1.8.0 called Shark Enhanced that can play CDDA tracks via any sound plugin so you could use that instead.

    hey zorlon,

    first off let me thank you for your strong support and personal activity in regards to emulation- the world is a better place with you in it.

    right, i have tried epsxe 1.8.0 with shark enhanced[says in the title bar on launch, used patch.cmd, after initial disputes with my avg it worked] tried it using dsound- still the cdda will not work, i checked with the cpu core[default thing] on both 1.9.0 and 1.8.0 and both still seemingly play only the character sound files and other .bins[i assume they are the sound files] that are within' the ''track 1'' > BIN folder of my last link;

    it seems to me that the game is reading track 1 as the complete iso, and disregarding all the other tracks

    could you perhaps d/l the roms to see if you can get it working correctly? i am running on xp 64bit/2003 server edition, if that changes anything[i know that 64 bit is not supported by many programs]

    atm trying to make zero 1 work

    Sure I will take a quick look when I get time

    I take it you already made a single bin+cue image from the multi bin+cue image as that is important to do anyway regarding those images supplied with multi bin files

    hum, well- i made a single .bin file by right-clicking the top tree 'cd', in isobuster then extracted raw to a single .bin then isobuster asked me to save a .cue file, which i also did[same name as saved .bin] but a bin+cue[combined?] i didn't do that, nor did i create a .iso file using isobuster

    please, don't push yourself too much, no urgency! i can barely imagine the workload you are under, lol, o_0

    yes, no urgency all in good time, thanks zorlon

    Sorry for the wait I should be on this in the next couple of days I have mostly finished what I was doing though (that I was re-compressing/renaming my Dreamcast GD-Rom set that has taking an age to do) it is still missing a few files but not many now, but at the moment I can't find any public shares with the updates to the set and not is any great rush to get that sorted either to be honest.

    This post is more of a reminder for myself to look at this next

    EDIT

    Finally got round to a test of this and seems to work just fine (though only let the demo mode play though due to not having a pad plugged in), you need to use ePSXe SPU Core instead of D-Sound

    Sound drivers that work with CDDA are:-
    ePSXe SPU core
    Eternal SPU Plugin (Lite and Full)

    Sound drivers not working with CDDA are:-
    Ion's DirectSound Driver (Lite and Full)
    Kazzuya DirectSound Audio driver
    P.E.Op.S Dsound audio Driver
    Seal Audio Driver

    Not much choice there to be honest, I found that the ePSXe SPU core produced the best sounds

    Myself if I was to emulate this game would be via an Arcade emulator instead of a PSX emulator
