I think I'll go out of my way to find all three Xenosaga games and finish them this time. I've only ever finished the first and I thought it was one of the slowest most pretentious things I've ever played.

brit: The Genki books are good for beginners, definitely go through those. I also found this book pretty fucking useful but most of it is in Japanese so you won't get to really use it until you're at an intermediate-ish level. Worth bookmarking for later use, though.

RTK, I never used back in the day. It definitely works for some (many?) people though.

Apparently pretty good once you hit the level cap. There's a new Glamour system which allows you to make your gear look fabulous.

Also there's boob physics.
