HAHAHAH Got everything working! For some reason, my VGA was acting weird and I initially thought it's a driver issue (since it DID work, but only in safe mode) after trying 100 different drivers, I started thinking that the cause might somehow be related to the new hard drive I installed. Having no idea what to do, I just took the adapter out, gave it a good blow (NES Style), and put it back in. And vola, it works!
Now remember kids, electronics need blowing from time to time.
