Get the Playstation version instead, better graphics anyway and no touch screen to worry about

Don't get me wrong I like the DS version but only on an actual DS, otherwise the PSX version is the one of choice for the best full screen res

If you are wondering it prolly is not detecting the save type correctly for that game.

Did the same issue happen on other games? or is this the first time you emulating on this emulator?

Try deleting the BATTERY folder(make a backup first if there any saves in it), then run the emulator.

Load the game after that, and when the error pop out, reset the emulator by pressing CTRL+R on your keyboard or go to File -> Reset.

Hopefully the game will run after that.

and if not, move the DeSmuME folder to desktop and try running it from there.
    vc3 released.

Sorry my bad, not that I am aware of, for some reason I thought it had a US/EU release but I was simply mistaken sorry.

I may of been thinking of Dragon Warrior VII at the time that is english but it's later in the series and not the same game (though it is a Dragon Quest game with the EU US name)
