According to playstationtrophies ep1 is:
Minimum number of playthroughs: 1 (+ a replay of Chapter 6).

So it is sort of one play-through, plus a little bit. I haven't looked up the 360 version but it should be the same.

Once you've completed the game, go back to Chapter 6 and make the opposite choice listed in the Novice Librarian trophy description to get the last trophy you need for Episode 1.

TWD S1 was just a straight play-through to get everything on 360. If ep1 of Wolf is any indication the series may not be just a straight single play-through.

I think it's exactly the same, just the ability to up the graphics a few notches without fiddling with the settings in the emulator, less intensive on the computer too - which doesn't mean all that much these days for either really.
