Default Looking for help on just mounting the ISO file, or heck, where is the ISO file? (PS2)

Well, im in nostalgia mode. I decided I wanted to replay FFX and Grandia 2 and a few others. I downloaded the PS2 emulator PCSX2 from http://pcsx2.net/getting-started.html so I would assume the latest version. I got everything installed and working right, BIOS and all. I decide to download a PS2 game from emuparadise before I go invest in a plug in game pad. So I download the FFX from emuparadise. 3 something gigs.

I go to where it downloaded, says "ISO archive". Ok, too easy, ill unzip it and get the ISO file, mount it, and play. Nope. I unzip it all into a folder so I can sift through the files for the ISO. No ISO. Just a bunch of folders and files I would assume make up the game. Wheres the ISO im supposed to put into PCSX2? Ok, no ISO file. I try putting the whole "iso archive" that I downloaded into the PCSX2, that of course did not work.

So....what am I doing wrong? Any help would be great. I can take screenshots if you all need.

    Also, im on windows 7

Use www.7-zip.org to extract with, then you will get an iso file what has happend is the iso contents has been extracted instead of the iso file, I am guessing you used winrar to extract with.

P.S. I don't think you need to mount anything as pcsx2 loads iso files directly rather than from a CD/DVD drive real or emulated CD/DVD drive with a mounted disc image (e.g. Daemon Tools or other virtual drives are not required)

Ok this is the file I downloaded from emuparadise: http://imgur.com/lKGVuil

This is the file once I double click it: http://imgur.com/O5M7xGl

And when I double click whats inside I get this: http://imgur.com/2tXbjHl

The files inside when I unzip them to another folder: http://imgur.com/Mhoe1xZ

On my PCSX2 when I try to just add the file from the first image to the program, obviously nothing happens: http://imgur.com/7Ual1O1

    What do I do...

    Yeah I win

You extracted the contents of the iso

This is the file once I double click it: http://imgur.com/O5M7xGl shows the iso file inside the 7z file

right click on the 7z file and hit 7-zip > Extract Here, that will give you the iso file (you have iso set as an winrar file type, hence the [I] icon it uses)

press alt+print screen to take a screen grab then open paint up and press ctrl+v or use paints paste function

if you are using a laptop it might be alt+[fn]+prt-scn to take a screen grab then open paint up and press ctrl+v or use paints paste function

no game started. Am I still doing it wrong?

Select Linuz Iso CDVD v0.9.0 and hit configure.

This plugin has the extra ability of compressing your images to save you disk space apart from running your images for the emulator.

Click Select Iso to select the game image you want to run/compress. Once you've selected an image you can either close the config window so you can run it or press "Compress Iso" to compress it. If you selected an already compressed image you can also select "Decompress Iso" to decompress it.

Under "Compression Method" you can select either ".Z - compress faster", which will compress your image faster but make it larger or ".BZ - compress better", which will compress your image slowly but make it smaller.

Under Options you can check/uncheck "Enable Block Dump=>'ISO name.dump'". When checked, this option will create a "ISO name".dump file in the PCSX2 root folder(where pcsx2-r4600.exe is located) from the game you ran. This file is like a small iso, which is mainly used for debugging. It will store the sectors read during the execution of the game you ran, so afterwards you will be able to load the file(using "select iso" of Linuz Iso CDVD) and run it without any image/cd/dvd. Note that if the game will try to read any other sectors from the ones not included in the dump file, it will obviously stop responding.

Press ok to save your changes.
For now ignore the compression options, you can play with those later but that plugin should let you run the iso files you have

I am no expert but I can read guides

Have you RUN the game after selecting the .iso? Go to System -> Boot CDVD (fast), and make sure CDVD option is set to ISO.

and post the PCSX2 emulogs if it still didn't work. The game should be running after you have load the right .iso file (which you should have based on your screenshot), and pressed the Boot CDVD option.

    EDIT:
And no, I wouldn't recommend using plugin to load the iso file.

2 things, where is this, and what will this do?

Before I even attempt, am I even dropping the ISO in the right place?
