I was kidding, obviously, but that scene is actually what stands out in my mind when I think of the show. Usually my mind skips the fanservice and goes to the plot (I'm that one dude who liked Ergo Proxy, remember )
But Gargantia, my mind says: Belly dancing. Yum.
There were some good points, really, but like 5 SoL episodes back to back ruined it for me. But then, Urobuchi flat out said the point of the show was a metaphor for young people adapting to "grown up" society, and the whole "learning to fit in" theme just appeal to me. After the social satire of Psycho-Pass, it just really felt weak to me.

Yeah it's not Gen's best work I've seen (that would be Fate/zero for me), but like I said I enjoyed the first half.

Btw I missed your comment on the sequel -- yeah, it pretty much ends with everything tied up on Earth/Gargantia. I can still see them doing a sequel in this way though: they could either show more of the ongoing war with the aliens in space (I'd hate that personally, but still), or they can do a timeskip and tell a story about their descendants or some shit. Or use the same old cast and just pull a brand new conflict outta their asses (oh hey there's *another* guy who crashlanded on Earth) and roll with that. Either way it's pretty much milking it, but to be fair, the series only had 13 episodes, so there's room for more development and belly dancing.

Ah, well since my laptop died on me the previous month and it took about 3 weeks to get a new one, I couldn't play anything so decided to watch virtually anything even remotely interesting this season on my Smartphone to kill boredom.
These are: Tokyo Ravens, Strike the Blood, Golden Time, Nagi no Asukara, Little Busters!, Coppelion, Kill la Kill, Log Horizon, Infinite Stratos and Kyoukai no Kanata...
    ...

Never again... It's entertaining and all, but... for someone who normally doesn't watch more than 4-5 animes per year and only critically well acclaimed ones like Fate Zero/Madoka Magica/Death Note/Psycho-Pass (yeah, count me in as a Urobutcher-sympathisant ), it was a bit shocking to see that there was NOT EVEN A SINGLE anime this season as cerebral, dark, intriguing and suspenseful as the above works (or I'm just completely missing them by chance). So much Harem (wasn't really familiar with this term till now), Fanservice, cheap Shounen action and Romantic comedys... It was enjoyable to watch and all, but pretty generic and nothing worth remembering. A bit more originality in these genres wouldn't hurt (I don't hate any of them, but find them too similar to each other).

    Gundam AGE

Pretty entertaining, interesting how it goes with the generations theme.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/

I watched all the Rebuild of Evangelion movies (again). I like the first two, but the third one is just... what the fuck was this. Like, seriously. I just... the words, I do not have them. Ugh.

Fourth movie better fix this shit.

Okay, I'm watching Utawarerumono, and I just need to get this off my chest.
THE ENTIRE POINT OF HAVING A FORTRESS IS THE 1 TO 10 KILL RATIO!!!!!!!!!!!
If a vastly superior force is laying siege, you rain arrows, drop rocks, spill boiling oil, set pikemen on siege ladders and outnumber those crossing from siege towers.
YOU DO NOT OPEN THE FUCKING GATE FOR A FRONTAL CHARGE AT AN ARMY THAT DOES NOT EVEN HAVE SIEGE EQUIPMENT!!!
God damn, what kind of Rain Man level retarded suicidally incompetent martial nonsense is this?!

Did you stay tuned after the credits of the second movie to see the preview for the third? That makes it even funnier. The whole movie was a troll.
That said, I actually liked it. Does it measure up to the rest? No. Does it even fit in with the rest? Fuck no. But I still found it entertaining as an individual entity, despite its Lost-rip-off-contrived-mystery foundation. It wasn't a bad movie, it was just a terrible sequel.

Utawarerumono is shounen/harem stuff, what do you expect. Like seriously. Edit: As far as I remember, anyway. It's been at least 5-6 years since I watched it so who knows.

As for Eva 3.0, GearBrain's post over here sums up all of my frustrations pretty much. Yeah, I later found out that the preview was a troll. I just really don't like how the characters acted in this one. Taking 5 minutes to explain shit to Shinji instead of being all passive aggressive and treating him like human garbage would've solved ALL their problems. Also, screen time was spent on piano lessons and flashy action scenes instead of actually explaining what happened during the 14 year skip and fleshing out characters. Hell, Misato has like 10 minutes of screen time in the entire thing.

I'm not sure how far the anime strays from the original story, but hey, they're all HILARIOUSLY inbred so that probably explains a lot.

I actually like Utawarerumono; the writing's been reasonably intelligent. . . until that scene.
And I saw the harem tag, but it really doesn't fit, at least not yet, even though I know the game was a harem. I'm especially glad the protagonist is nothing like a harem protagonist, even if the story does go that way.
He's actually one of the few NT (MBTI talk) types to get a leading role who isn't an antihero (Intuitive Thinkers include Light Yagami and Lelouche vi Britannia. . . that's it). He may be introverted enough to lack in the personality department, but, well, while his soldiers were retardedly abandoning their battlements to charge into a larger force, he was at least doing something intelligent by sabotaging the enemies supply outpost.
Usually intelligent, non-emotional characters are portrayed as amoral, so it's a nice change of pace.

As for Eva, if they'd explained it to Shinji, then the contrived mystery factor would have been gone! Shinji is a proxy for the audience, after all! (God, doesn't that just make it even more likable! ) Basically, it was an episode of Lost. While I could enjoy it (independently) for what it was, I will admit the entire rebuild series is fucked because of it, even if the fourth movie is great.

Says the guy who defends inbreeding.
I didn't know you could climb DOWN the evolutionary ladder--it would explain the ears and tails.

It was genetically engineered evolutionary climbing down. We became so evolved that we stopped being able to survive outside of our specially designed sealed bunkers and power armor. Evolving back to being able to live on the surface takes a while. So instead let's cross breed this unevolved neanderthal with some animals to get some idiot lab rats to run errands on the surface for us. Then godzilla hulk shows up and... well it's a long story.

Yeah well Hakuoro is voiced by the same dude that did Kiritsugu's voice. So he has that going for him, too.

I completely forgot about Kiritsugu. I was happy with him too for being an xNTJ. . . until near the end, where the writing flunked out of psych class and made him, spontaneously, into an INFJ, retconning his entire modus operandi.
Lol. Save people based on quantity rather than quality. Yeah, cuz that's consistent with his character psychology.

    He's a Christian.

Did you really expect something else?

NT types can be Christians. Just ask Machiavelli's Prince!

Jesus Christ, who does that guy remind me of?

But Kiritsugu went from being an old School Catholic to a Mormon.
    Didn't even get the harem.
