Anyone that says what M$ does, Sony won't do is asking for it imo.
Both push out hardware that isn't reliable, instead of holding off for a bit longer with quality testing.
Sure Sony has a free online service but how long can that be sustainable given that they have issues?
    Even M$ have issues sometimes.

    Bleh.

    Spoiler warning:

The key words here are "entirely optional microtransactions". You can get any car in the game just by playing. The more/better you play, the more Cr. you earn and the more cars you'll be able to purchase. As always.

We've seen many games that offer something like this just to speed the progression process up. A good thing for those with little patience and money to waste but it's harmless for traditional players.

Are you available for that online trophy in Altered Beast, sir? It doesn't take 5 minutes.

That's the same thing some Xbox games did, but people wanted to witch hunt them for it.

In other news: My friend I suggested for the job got it.

Pretty much this. There's a huge difference between installing a paywall, and installing an option for people to purchase later items, especially something like cars. I think the main argument against this idea is going to be how hard it is to earn $20M credits in game. If they make it virtually impossible to earn $20M credits through normal gameplay, then that's a problem.

Fanboys will always witch hunt the opposing console.

If the "BUY NOW!" button is constantly being thrust at you in-game and you have to go out of your way to actively avoid it, that's a problem. If the cars are released as payable DLC and the only times you'll really notice it is by clicking through a "Go To Playstation Store!" button while buying something in-game, then that's not a problem in my opinion. My biggest issue is whether the microtransactions make the rest of the game unplayable for regular people who don't spend money. If it takes 300 hours to earn $20M CR in GT6, then you'll hear the community in an uproar.

Because of the fact Microtrans = Former Content Withheld for Profit.
Either that or they could just, not pay and stfu.

Can't use those, they disable achievements/trophies!

I've read over at GT Planet that it's not hard to make money. Will find it by myself when I get to play what's going to be my new fav JRPG %)))))))))
