My grandfather was pretty lucky really. He only ever had 2 stories about disobeying orders...obviously he was never found out/caught for either.
Note: he was a staff car (kubelwagen) driver for officers.
The first was when he was ordered to search some houses for suspected allied soldiers hiding behind German lines.
Found a wounded American (he said he was a boy so he must've been young) in a barn, put a single finger up to his lips to direct the kid to be silent and then covered him (and any traces of blood) with hay.
The second was when he ditched his uniform in '45 and took off.
Spoiler warning:
I don't think he liked being around officers all the timebut he did like driving. And the fact he wasn't constantly killing people or being shot at.
He may have been popular with the officers to a degree because he was promoted to corporal before the end of the war without actually doing any proper front line service. He did mention once that officers said he "drove like a madman" (or something similar)![]()
Spoiler warning:
Back then things were probably a little more complicated too. He was a Pole, and therefore racially lower down on the ladder.
Blacks would have had similar problems in the past in the US, but with Nazi Germany it wasn't just the people it was the state and organisations. Of course because he was in the wehrmacht I don't think he had any huge racial related problems...probably just some mild vilification.
Spoiler warning:
Longsword start is actually really good. I learned that I need to stop running back to base all the time. I can get 2K just staying in lane and killing creeps. Between that and hitting the jungle, there's no reason for me to spend so much time flying back to base.
I'm finally starting to really understand more of this game.
Welp, one hour onto the 11 hour shift.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.
It wasn't always as good. Before the Doran's Blade nerf, ADCs always started a single dorans blade (use to cost 475gold, 80 health, 10 damage, +5 health vamp on hit--compared to now 440 gold, 80 health, 8 damage and 3 health vamp on hit for ranged, 5 for melees). And at this same time Longsword went down in price, used to cost 400 gold, now just 360 gold without losing any stats, so you can get an extra health pot now.
