There has been times where Nintendo fucked up consoles, N64 expansion pack is one example. The first game to incorporate the damn thing wasn't originally planned for it, it was only bundled to make the darn thing playable. I heard they got fucked early on for that one.

Of course nothing is 100% problem free. And older consoles can have numerous issues anyway (dead psu or whatever).
I was mostly referring to newer consoles overheating and other hardware issues = badly designed/manufactured.
The Wii is the most reliable of the last gen consoles. I dunno about the WiiU, which is why I had the shrug/dunno smiley.
