That Sierra I'd garage until I was confident in my ability to drive. But they won't be available for £800 for much longer. They're appreciating classics.

What car did you get tested in? Most instructor cars are pretty small so they're easier to drive than large ones.

Not many people here follow the rule about having a qualified driver be in the car with you.

Are you allowed to drive a car on your own (or required to) for X amount of hours before you take your test? There's nothing like that over here, you can take the driving test whenever you want. So some driving instructors can rinse you for cash, or like the one I had, they just throw you into it when they think you're ready (not when I felt ready. )

That's a perfect car for doing the test in.

Drivers on a provisional license (now changed the name to Learner's permit) are not legally allowed to drive without a qualified driver in the car, this however is often ignored by people with provisional licenses. You must wait six months after getting your provisional license before you can sit your test AND you must have had about 10 lessons by a qualifed instructor before you're allowed sit the test. The amount of driving you do in that six month period outside of those six lessons is irrelevant.

Unless it's a Skyline, 300ZX Twin Turbo or a Supra Twin Turbo.

Here you have to either have a car insured or you can rent a car to do one.

I just used my driving instructors car for the test, it's the only car I've ever driven.

You can take it in your own car as long as it's road worthy, taxed, insured, etc. And a qualified driver accompanies you to the centre (obviously)
It's pretty much the same here as in the UK.
Most people just use their instructor's car.

    180/200/240sx/Silvia aren't Skylines. They're S platform 4cyl cars.
