Unless this is some bird fanatic forum, and I am just woefully confused (it happens). . .

But honestly, Emus have so many function the initial hardware lacks, even if it doesn't measure up to purist nostalgia. You can savestate games that you'd either have to ragequit or leave running all day/ kill midgame if you have to leave, you can upscale graphics, and you don't have to fight with compatibility with modern televisions, and you can fast forward through tedious gameplay that was barely acceptable in some games even when they were new.

I prefer emulation even for systems I have, for obvious reasons.
I prefer hardware, even though I am somewhat of a rom hoarder for handhelds. I care not for the tweaks, I went to the trouble of emulating a game because for reasons I can't grab a copy. It's never meant to replace a game, even though most of the internet would disagree with this statement. It's there to hold you over until you get the game. Plus emulation is expensive, top of the line computers for just PS2 games, when you can buy the damn thing, 10 games and 2 controls for way cheaper.
