My current Genesis setup is to run composite through the 32X. As it looks surprisingly better than if I did it straight from my Genny.

Okay, so I downloaded Kegafusion. There does seem to be a fast forward option; I'll test it later to see if it suits me.
But when I realized PSI isn't in my Genesis folder. . . I found this:

Suffice to say, playing Phantasy Star series just bumped its way higher in backlog priority!

I would like to contribute to the discussion on hardware over virtualization.
    Where are we?
    EMUparadise.
Unless this is some bird fanatic forum, and I am just woefully confused (it happens). . .

But honestly, Emus have so many function the initial hardware lacks, even if it doesn't measure up to purist nostalgia. You can savestate games that you'd either have to ragequit or leave running all day/ kill midgame if you have to leave, you can upscale graphics, and you don't have to fight with compatibility with modern televisions, and you can fast forward through tedious gameplay that was barely acceptable in some games even when they were new.

I prefer emulation even for systems I have, for obvious reasons.

I prefer hardware, even though I am somewhat of a rom hoarder for handhelds. I care not for the tweaks, I went to the trouble of emulating a game because for reasons I can't grab a copy. It's never meant to replace a game, even though most of the internet would disagree with this statement. It's there to hold you over until you get the game. Plus emulation is expensive, top of the line computers for just PS2 games, when you can buy the damn thing, 10 games and 2 controls for way cheaper.

I only emulate some old console games on my original Xbox. I prefer consoles.
There are games I don't play at all because I don't have the systems (mostly handhelds, but also PS3 & DC).

I'm thinking about getting back into old PC games though (been a while). Just have to decide on my hardware/OS configuration, and put it together.

I'd rather play my PS2 games in 1080p as opposed to the shitty native resolution. Also you don't need a top of the line PC for PS2 emulation. That's simply not true.

Because they boasted such qualities, right?
However the last is true to a degree. Not top of the line anymore, but chug it back a few years and specs were flying to figure out if they could emulate the damn thing at all.

And I actually do have a PS2, but I find no reason to go back when I can just use my DualShock on PC and play in full HD.

I'm too tired to figure out what you meant there ( ) but I was talking about PCSX2 allowing you to play games in 1080p.

But can you play the whole library?

More power to ya, but it feels like trying at that point. If I won't go back to the system to play a game, I must've not wanted to play it.

And consoles don't need any configuring.
I don't use PS2 on led, I have a massive crt trinitron for old consoles.
