I... I see. I mostly thought he was that cool guy who translated the first Kiseki game which I thought was pretty well-done as far as English localizations go. I don't know much about his personal stuff.

I would have to compare his translation and the original JP script to make judgments. I am also fairly liberal in my own translations, which is something that some hardcore purist folk frown upon.

Don't forget Jess' involvement! I can't testify to her character, but I know she worked her ass off on that game.
Also, she gets points for aesthetics.

As for localizations, as I've said to Beelz, I think some liberties are necessary so it doesn't sound stilted and wooden (let's face it, Japanese isn't the most poetic language), but I think just throwing away what was originally there so you can use that space to make inside jokes for your friends is. . . ridiculously disrespectful to the original work.
