\~*-*~ Last night,someone tried to break into our house twice.The second time,they almost got in. I don't like this neighborhood anymore.

That happened to me when I was living in South Carolina a few years ago. There was a drug dealer that lived nearby, and one night some random guy just started pounding at my door screaming that I let him in. The ceiling was too low for the katana, so I just stood on the other side of the door with a dagger and waited for him to get in. He came back twice, trying to force it open, but thankfully he finally gave up.
I was honestly more afraid of the prospect of going to prison for a hate crime for defending myself than I was of the guy (SC has some really stupid laws).

Moral of this story, Err, get yourself something large and sharp--or something large and burly who has something large and sharp--to keep you safe.
Hopefully there are no repeat occurrences though.
