bloody hell. Never going to catch up to you at this rate.

Beat Organ trail on easy. Seems nicely paced out for an easy setting, so I reckon hard is going to destroy me. The shooting is something I don't think I'll get used to.

Finally finished Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Strangely, the last boss was the only one I beat on the first try; had the others been as reasonable, I would have had a better experience.
Through the last couple areas, I just wanted to be done with it. It's my own fault, really, because my OCD compulsion to search out everything and do everything drew the game out much longer than something with no story can reasonably be.
It had its good points, and I liked it enough to see it all the way through, even when I was frustrated, but it was mostly just skulk, sneak, read, rinse and repeat. I felt like it didn't do anything Metal Gear Solid hasn't already done better, with the exception that MGS throws in intense action sequences and this newfangled thing they started putting into video games called a "plot". DE:HR has a great story concept, but zero development outside like 3 one-on-one dialogues.

And what a disappointment that "ending" was. It's literally impossible to spoil it, because there's NOTHING to spoil. The game doesn't have multiple endings, it has multiple choices, and the game just feeds you a soliloquy rationalizing that choice.
Guess it would have felt too out of place to have a narrative ending to a game with no narrative.

    It was an origin story.

The whole point of DE:HR was to spell out how the world went down the path to becoming the world of DE/IW with bits of fanservice just because.

It did that bit pretty well.

I'm not sure I agree with that. In atmosphere at certain times, sure. But the "puzzles" are mind-numbingly bad just like in all the other recent entries in the series.

Raid Mode is great fun though!

The Witch's House. Very creepy and macabre. The instant I mutilated a teddy bear and bloody paw prints started appearing on the wall as I passed, I knew I was going to like it.
And that true ending was great; they kind of inverted what you'd usually expect from "normal" and "true", surprisingly.

My only complaint is those damn puzzles. I generally don't like puzzles in games, because they tend to detract and distract from the other elements. There were three or four of them that required me to minimize the window to check the walkthrough, which breaks the immersion as much as being frustrated breaks the creepy ambiance. Mostly a good experience though.

Battlefield 4 (Hard); going through it one more time to mop up the remaining single player achievements before I trade it in for Ghost next week.

I meant in atmosphere. The puzzles did indeed suck donkey balls. But it's closer to oldschool RE than 5 or 6, that's for sure. Not quite on the level of Code Veronica but still.

Been playing Raid Mode since then, very addictive.

After getting over my fear of playing it (it was somehow scarier when I played it on my computer) but I managed to complete Super Metroid and what a fantastic ending to this brain hurting game.
Layin down enjoying the fun unleashing the power of the sun and capturing them all until I'm done.

I also thought the story was particularly bad for a RE. I mean the stories tend to be pretty wank but Revelations had the most far-fetched sci-fi animu-reject piece of shit story in the entire series. Even RE6 had a better story in my opinion!

I'll be honest, I was not paying much attention to the story, since y'know, lolol RE games and plot. I dunno, I still enjoyed the game despite all that, is what I'm trying to say.

    Resident Evil Director's Cut (PS1/Vita)

    Spoiler warning:
Got the crappy ending, didn't even get to fight the tyrant on the helipad, I'd saved about 18 magnum rounds up for it too, so disappointed!
