    The cat missed you, the same thing happens with dogs.

    When I was younger (just after leaving home) my parent's animals (cats/dogs) would want to spend more time with me than them whenever I was staying over.

    That's what dogs are, the pack mentality is their life.
    If you take them for walks/runs they are very happy (so being an owner means you have to know what your dogs like doing, and how often) but a lot of the time they just want to be with you...no strings attached.

    Probably because you're more fun than the other humans I've always liked animals and I'm just a big kid (still).

    It just mean it can control you with more ease.
