Started it at noon. Finished about half 1. Didn't really take any breaks so I'm gonna say altogether about 12-13 hours.

    The Last of Us.
I honestly don't know if I loved the game or hated it. It was absolutely fantastic, but some of its critical flaws were. . . critical. It often felt more like an interactive movie than a game, with an amazing faculty for player immersion. . . but then it would sodomize that immersion by throwing in ridiculously cheap insta-deaths just from certain enemies getting too close, often without even seeing them.
The game also promotes the use of stealth, but most areas have a limited applicability, because making a single mistake turns the entire thing into a shootout. . . which is bad, given the HORRIBLE aiming mechanic (who'da thunk it so easy to dodge bullets?) and the extreme shortage of ammo.
When the game was flowing along, it was great, and the story, if somewhat cliche (bunch of post apocalypse stories mashed together), was gripping and excellently delivered.
It just kept making me redo shit, which made it like an interactive movie that repeatedly skips--for up to a half hour--at certain scenes.

But on the topic, this review is hysterical:

    Remember Me.
A very breathtaking standalone game with a focus on the story more than the gameplay. It's a bit of a bugger for those who plays for pure excitement, but a nice journey nonetheless.
It's set in 20XX Paris where memories are so important, a company has brought about a revolution on storing and reliving happy memories. You play as an Amnesiac who was once a feared enemy of this corporation's clients, now out seeking answers to piece together her memories and possible her troubled soul. It's a linear game with gameplay that marks it as such.
It's good and would be potentially easy to 100% it, if you wait a bit longer for the price to drop.

Definite recommendation. It only takes an hour or two to beat, anyway. But yeah get ready for a super downer ending.

I'll never look at most games, particularly JRPGs, in the same way again. So impressed.
    That good eh?
