Good to see some love for the classics!
And really, everybody owes it to themselves to play Suikoden II at some point in their life. The first one has my nostalgia, but the second is easily one of the best RPGs. Ever. Well worth its price tag (one of the only games I don't regret spending over $200 on).

And GoB, if you like Suikoden, add Seal: Unmei No Tabibito to your Jap games list.

Remember once you beat Suikoden one you can load yer save into Suikoden two and unlock stuff necessary to get all 108 Stars of Destiny.

Been dabbling with Ace Combat Assault Horizon (PC) I'll probably finish this one.
Also Resident Evil 5 (PC) co-op with a friend. The GFWL rampage continues!

Started playing Moon: Remix RPG Adventure today after it popped into my head yesterday, and I realised that despite wanting to play it since forever ago, I had never actually played very much of it at all. Not hugely convinced by it as a game; some of the gameplay mechanics feel a bit clumsily executed to me, and lots of the quests are unnecessarily obtuse at times, even by adventure game standards, and require too much walking back and forth aimlessly trying to trigger something by accident (of course there's always the option of a walkthrough, but that sort of defeats the point in a game like this~). But it's crammed full of so many quirky, cool ideas, oozes so much heart and charm, and is, as its name would suggest, such a neat "remix" of the traditional JRPG that I'm really loving it anyway. Haven't played a new game from start to finish for a long time, but I think I'm going to see this one to the end.
I have gotten so many recommendations for this game it's ridiculous. It looks good, but too quirky to elbow its way to the upper tier of my list.

Fond of that one myself. Though it's actually Korean rather than Japanese. The Japanese version is a translation.
Yes, but GoB isn't learning Korean just yet (don't think so anyway), so that version wouldn't be of much use!
That said, Derboo from HG101 was working on a translation of the original version, but it seems to be stalled.

I had a friend who was self taught in Japanese, Chinese and Korean, and she brought my attention to a whole slew of hidden gems--it's really surprising how many great games go under the radar simply for not being Japanese. War of Genesis, Wind Fantasy and Fantasia Sango, just to name a few.

And PokemonGenius, I now have The Safety Dance song stuck in my head thanks to your post.
