With that in mind, I always wondered whether with something like hentai, which has a pretty limited audience, there wouldn't be someone in some distant corner of the web producing professional quality fansubs purely as a labour of love. :'D

Yeah... I don't see that happening. Most skilled translators probably busy themselves with making translations for stuff that's actually worth working on. As such, hentai translations generally attract bad translators.

And honestly, I have better things to do than translate dialogue about someone's gargantuan boner.
