OK, installed Ubuntu 12.04 on the netbook and it ran so slowly it was pretty much unusable. I'm now trying Easy Peasy Linux since it supposedly picks up where the old netbook versions of Ubuntu left off.

Much, much better so far. Might try Mint 13 MATE on a different partition but I think this is probably the one I'll stick with.

So I've been told many times that I should play Dead Rain because I'm rather susceptible to the "Family in trouble" theme.

I just watched a trailer for Dead Rain just now and it didn't really seem to interesting. Certainly not as great as I've been told it was.
The voice acting was halfassed, and the whole scenario was really unbelievable.
