For the record, From Ashes is one of those DLC that should have been included with the main game. It is so integral to the story that without it, you might not fully understand the true breadth of what the Reaper invasion means. So many scenes are more understandable with your extra teammate's insight.

It was though, it could be activated without acquiring the DLC.
