That's a lot of games.... what type of game are you in the mood for? Braid, Black and White, Half Life 2, Dungeon Siege, Indigo Prophecy - those are all pretty good and very different from one another.

Have you seen The Place Beyond the Pines?

Hmm might try Black and white - is the first better than the second?

Halflife 2 is a bitch to get running so I'm not even going to bother and I've beaten Dungeon Siege 1 and 2. I'll have to look up the other 2, I know I've heard the names but can't remember anything about them.

They were both pretty good -I prefer the first, but the second is totally serviceable.

The old 70's movie? Yes I have, and it's a pretty good dark comedy. The main message of the movie holds up quite well today

The film was completely spot on in some of what it said.

IKR? I had always heard about how great the movie was, and it was nominated for a crapload of awards back in the day, so I just assumed it was a deadly serious movie. First time I saw it I wasn't expecting it to be a really dark comedy, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Have you ever seen The Paper (1994)? It's not nearly as clever as Network, but it takes some jabs at the newspaper world, and it's got a great cast as well. Ron Howard directed it - so that should at least tell you it's a competent film

List of games that I've played and enjoyed, or know are good games and would recommend based on what every single person in the world (yes, ALL OF THEM INCLUDING YOURSELF) has told me:

    Spoiler warning:

    Beyond Good & Evil
    Braid
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2
    Deus Ex
    Grim Fandango
    Half-Life/Half-Life 2
Heroes of Might & Magic III (better with a buddy)
    Hitman 2 & 3
Machinarium (fairly simple adventure game, you might have grabbed recently off PS+. Can't remember when it was listed.)
Mafia (I never played the first one, but the second one was pretty good)
    Max Payne/Max Payne 2
Myst (any of them, they're all great)
Psychonauts (says here it runs in 800x600 w/Medium Details)
Rayman (if you like platformers, which I don't remember if you do or not)
    Red Faction 2
    Serious Sam/Serious Sam 2
    Shadowman
Star Trek/Star Wars (I'm sure at least one of those games are worthwhile playing, but I've never touched any of them)
Morrowind/Oblivion (sounds like there's a workaround to get Oblivion running)
The Sims (admit it, you love these games)
Worms Armageddon (best with buddy, but still fun by yourself in short bursts)
    XIII

Also, a couple of DOS games that I liked that you might get a bit of enjoyment out of if you can find them (might take some tweaking to get them working properly, or at least running in DOSbox):

Raptor: Call of the Shadows (very accessible shmup)
Cyberdogs (top down futuristic "dungeon crawler")
The Incredible Machine (problem solving obstacle courses, essentially)
DOOM (you can never go wrong with DOOM, I don't even need to link to gameplay footage)
    Hocus Pocus
    Catacomb Abyss
    Commander Keen

Those recommendations are heavily influenced by the style of games I like to play, so take 'em with a grain of salt. Also, see if Bastion would work on your PC -- it might, it might not, but it's a fantastic game if you can get it running.

Beyond Good & Evil - Beaten.

Braid - Flave just mentioned that, I'll look around and nab it.

    Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 -

    Deus Ex - Beaten.

    Grim Fandango - hmmm maybe.

Half-Life/Half-Life 2 - Might run through the first one again the 2nd is a bitch to get running properly.

Heroes of Might & Magic III (better with a buddy) - never played any of them and might pass on this.

    Hitman 2 & 3 - Downloading now

Machinarium (fairly simple adventure game, you might have grabbed recently off PS+. Can't remember when it was listed.) - Yeah def grabbed it on the PS3.

Mafia (I never played the first one, but the second one was pretty good) - I've tried it and it was horrid.

    Max Payne/Max Payne 2 - Beaten.

Myst (any of them, they're all great) - Never really liked these games for some reason.

Psychonauts (says here it runs in 800x600 w/Medium Details) - Always wanted to try and will look up.

Rayman (if you like platformers, which I don't remember if you do or not) OF COURSE I DO!!! I'll grab it too

Red Faction 2 - Good idea I must have skipped by it on the list.

    Serious Sam/Serious Sam 2 - Beaten

    Shadowman - no idea

Star Trek/Star Wars (I'm sure at least one of those games are worthwhile playing, but I've never touched any of them) - These are staples for me and will most likely grab all of them again.

Morrowind/Oblivion (sounds like there's a workaround to get Oblivion running) I've had nothing but headaches getting these to run. I got Morrowind going good once but by then I couldn't care less

The Sims (admit it, you love these games) - Simcity 4 was the first game I grabbed!!!! Don't like the actual Sims games (I won't even clean my own toilet for gods sakes!!!!)

Worms Armageddon (best with buddy, but still fun by yourself in short bursts) - another one of those over the years that I've yet to try..

XIII - good game and never beaten it so I think I'll grab it.

Also, a couple of DOS games that I liked that you might get a bit of enjoyment out of if you can find them (might take some tweaking to get them working properly, or at least running in DOSbox):

Raptor: Call of the Shadows (very accessible shmup)

Cyberdogs (top down futuristic "dungeon crawler") - Not my bag baby!

The Incredible Machine (problem solving obstacle courses, essentially) -Dunno

DOOM (you can never go wrong with DOOM, I don't even need to link to gameplay footage) Yeah I'll probably grab just to have around as they're pretty tiny, I might even grab Doom3 again.

    Hocus Pocus - I'll have a look

    Catacomb Abyss - " "

    Commander Keen -

Thanks for the suggestions!!! I may give MAchinarium a shot on PC and see what it's like on that.

I really enjoyed Machinarium, but those kind of point and click adventure games definitely feel cumbersome on the consoles. If you don't have fun with it on PC, you straight up won't enjoy it. I was getting slightly annoyed with the cursor when I played through it on PS3, mainly because a mouse would have been so much better.

Fuck, I really want to go on a DOS game spree right now.

Also it looks like I could run Fallout 3 with some tooling around. Been itching to play that again so that ones going near the top I think

Yeah I only got so far with it on the PS3 and was relegated to the indie no play list

I sometimes wonder if I should go back and do the DLC for that game. It actually was fun, I just hated walking around the wasteland between locations before you could fast travel. Got really freaking boring at times. Also, not enough sidequests.

About the only thing that pushed me forward in that game was the art style, honestly. And I needed something different to play. I'm glad I beat it, but I doubt I would have bought it with my own hard earned cash.
