    So. Sleeping Dogs.

It's alright. There's definitely a great game in there somewhere.

I just wish someone bothered to finish it before it hit retail. It feels like 1/3 to 1/2 of a game. Big chunks are clearly missing. There's clearly a second and third act that's supposed to be there that isn't. Considering the history of this thing, I can kinda see that's what happened here. They just threw whatever missions they had together, finished up a couple more for good measure, and called it a game. The balance feels more than a little off (where the Triad Exp sidequests at?) and there's plenty of hints at more content that wound up on the cutting room floor. And that skill tree needed serious work and more fleshing out.

You spend the bulk of the game getting to the top while doing varied missions and resolving different plots (some of which felt rushed and shortened themselves) and- that's pretty much when the game stops bothering. Do this, do that, someone dies, obvious stake raising, endboss fight, enjoy your victory, disregard the dangling plot threads.

Hopefully it sold enough to see the TC series continue. I always sorta-kinda liked them. They're definitely no GTA or anything but they have a decent enough thing going. Makes for a good mid-level sandbox game.

Plus there's something to be said about a game that pretty much says "fuck game balance and fuck all this "duck and cover" bullshit, you're an invincible supercop. Now go punch that guy's face in then clear the entire fucking room with your overpowered bullshit guns in slow motion".

    Sleep well.

Also, curse my silly imagination. I always have a mental image of someone walking up to a haybale and giving it a right smack.

All you guys are complaining I've been up all fucking night and I'm not even tired.

Although it's foggier than balls outside and I have a long drive ahead of me.

Judging from my friends, it's quite common for girls from East Asia to seriously wear their hearts on their sleeves. I think it's really cute, and the pace of life here as a girl suits me sort of well since I've always been that sort of person too. Unfortunately, it's also meant that I've grown even more naive, innocent and trusting here than I was in the UK. Kind of scared to go back now. Britain will gobble me up and spit me out. :'D
