Then she giggled and wrote the Thai word for love, wrote it side by side with my name, and asked what it meant. Then she wrote a word expressing a strong conviction about something, stuck it in the sentence, and giggled again.

The conversation moved on a little bit, and eventually, she wrote down a word to teach me a certain tone in Thai. I asked what it meant, and she said "smile". I then asked how you express ownership in Thai, and she wrote that. Then I turned to her, grinned, and told her in Thai, "I really love your smile." She clapped her hands with joy, kept saying how much she loved me, then cried a little and told me that she wished she had gotten to know me better sooner. After she wiped the tears from her eyes, she wrote the Thai word for "embarrassment". :'D My life here is so unbelievably cute. It makes no sense at all.
