Only problem with my upgrades is I didn't have enough thermal paste to properly cover the CPU. The fan kicks in faster, new paste should be here either today or tomorrow. Hopefully using it like this won't do much harm.

Still the 965? When I got it, I read everywhere that it heats up like a motherbitch so I got a Hyper 212 EVO to go with it, that's what everyone was recommending. That thing is an absolute monster of a heatsink. It's humongous!

Thankfully it also cools like a champ.

It's got a Cooler Master on it, my i5 had a Freezer Pro 7 by Arctic something or other on it. I wish I had the parts to put the fan off the Intel on the 965.

Sold those old parts on eBay for £80 + £15 postage.

Ordered a new CPU heatsink/fan for my Phenom.

Zalman CNPS10X Optima Heatsink and Fan for £16.66 and whatever postage (monday) so £24 ish.

I wish I could find a modern mobo with a few IDE connectors, serial and an LPT port. Oh yeah, you can't
In all seriousness I mean that first statement and it looks like it was a nice a mobo. Many options for upgrade.

I'm sure it had serial and LPT. No IDE connector, but I'm sure a PCI RAID card with an IDE connector would've done that job too.

Yes it did. I was saying it was obsolete, but I liked it anyhow.

You sure there were no IDE connectors, becuase I am looking right at it? It Looks like one IDE and one Floppy connector.

Oh God, I'm thinking of the motherboard I had before it. You're right, that was quite old school compatible that board I've just sold on.
