I remember he took to blasting Wii U almost as soon as their original reveal was over a few years back. I wonder if M$ gave him some cash to keep his mouth shut until after E3 (where they'll supposedly focus on games, games, games).
Before the Xbone was announced, Pachter said M$ will win next gen. Pretty much what he says, the opposite happens. I'm sure he is a good business annalist, but he is terrible at video game annalists Also, Nintendo's Wiiu sales rose like 400% on amazon after the Xbone was announced, lol.

Haha, yeah he usually is wrong. I just like reading what he has to say because it's definitely amusing and makes fanboys rage big time.

That 400% raise in Wii U is for the UK though, not the U.S. - and they just had a massive price cut on the system as well. I'm sure the M$ conference had a little something to do with it, but it didn't do shit for the U.S sales

The scary part is people are going to be lining up to buy it. Then the new standard for all future gaming consoles is going to require online, and block or charge fees for used games. If that happens I'll never buy another console unless I can mod it.

I already feel like people are getting fleeced on DLC. They buy a $60 game, then they release another $50+ of DLC that is content already present on the disk. Its only going to get worse next gen.

lol big brother conspiracy theorists, beware the kinect 2.0: http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/new...f-viewers.html

microsoft planning (note: hoping very much) to sell more xbox one's than they did 360's. and now i find out that game stop actually supports they're plans concerning used games, thats BS right there.

this is looking increasingly ridiculous, the more i look into the xbox one.

Gamestop can try and support the used sale setup M$ has allowed all they want. But it won't mean shit if nobody brings them games. M$ is supposedly cutting them in at 10% of the value. So suppose you bring in a $50 game, and Gamestop is getting $5 on the deal. How much $$ do you think Gamestop will cut you in on? Gamestop will be forced to hand out virtually nothing. Sure your used disc is already worthless, so $1 may look appealing, but so will simply throwing the disc in the trash.

    Hey, guys, guess what?

    Spoiler warning:
Report: Xbox One will be region-locked

by Jessica Conditt Writer RSS on May 26th 2013 11:15PM

The Xbox One will be region-locked, meaning all software must match the region of the console itself, Microsoft confirmed to Digital Trends. This means a US Xbox One won't be able to play games imported from Europe or Japan, for example.

"Similar to the movie and music industry, games must meet country-specific regulatory guidelines before they are cleared for sale," a Microsoft spokesperson said. "We will continue to work with our partners to follow these guidelines with Xbox One."

The Xbox 360 isn't completely region-locked – Microsoft currently allows studios to choose whether their games will work across regions. The PlayStation 3 is region-free, and all games except for Persona 4 Arena work on every console, regardless of spatial location. It's unclear if the PlayStation 4 will be similarly region-free.

Considering the online requirement, that may not work anymore...

anti-piracy has lvled up. though i'm sure hackers will remedy that with time...if they care to even bother with this console. i see no reason to mess with it at all.

The Wii-U is apparently already fully cracked. But the hackers didn't bother releasing a softmod or anything, because nobody cares about the Wii-U yet

In other Xbone related news, famed indie developer of Braid Jonathon Blow is slamming M$ and claiming that they're lying about their cloud service and its capabilities.

think i heard that there were indie dev concerns earlier and after hearing about so much stuff related to the console already (its only been a few days so far right?) this doesn't come as much of a surprise. tbh, while i can see the usefulness of cloud services, i never cared much for it.

edit: off-topic but wii-u gamers may have something to look forward to, http://www.destructoid.com/conker-s-...t-254564.phtml

who doesn't like the conker games?

    Not surprising in the least.

I've always had this semi-unfounded semi-hatred for Microsoft but all this finally gives me a reason to truly hate them.
