Nice to see you back Gypsy - maybe things will get a little more lively around here now?

And with that said, I'm sure I'm sitting in here talking to myself right about meow.

Nah, I'm here. Just got home from working a wine dinner at my work. So much good food! I'm so full.

I have only four PCBs currently. Top Gunner, P.O.W., Ninja Gaiden, and Raiden 2 "NEW". Unfortunately the Raiden 2 PCB has a weird refresh rate. So it can't be displayed properly on any LCD monitor. Nor on any of my CRT monitors. It only displays somewhat properly on my big-ass 32" CRT TV. Although since it's a vertical monitor oriented game I'm not about to turn my TV sideways.

Right now though I'm just getting down on some Street Fighter X Tekken. Just beat Medium-Hard again. Unfortunately I lost one round. I think I'm going to have to run up the difficulty on this. Or get humbled by playing online a bit.

I'm here, but I'm not all there.

And by that, I mean I'm exhausted and am just finishing one more section of GOW2 before I go to sleep.

Which I've been telling myself for the last hour or so.

Isn't Top Gunner a vertical game? That game is great, btw. I try to stay away from the fighting games... I really like Tekken, since it's more of a technical fighter, but I'm only good with Jin and Kazuya.

Yeah, just one more stage/turn/level.... I know that sentiment well. Do you like GoW2? I really enjoyed the first 3 GoW games.... the latest one I was pretty disappointed with. Felt like a cheap cash grab, and didn't have any of the "Epic" scenes that the first three had.

I was feeling done in, couldn't win
    I'd only ever kissed before.
I thought there's no use getting into heavy petting
It only leads to trouble and seat wetting...

That's for you Drag - I know you know what song that is

Yeah, Top Gunner is a vertical game too. Though it displays just fine on my vertical LCD monitor setup. Which is much more manageable than my huge 32" CRT.

Just played a bit of SFXT online just now and got whooped. Time to play some more arcade on a harder difficulty.

I'm not a huge fan, but I understand the appeal of the games. I'm just awful at this style of combat, and it really starts to frustrate me towards the later levels. I'm not sure how far I am -- I'm scaling Atlas at the moment right shortly getting the wings of Icarus.

So far, I've played the first two, as well as Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus. I don't think I will be buying another title unless I get a really great discount. Even with coming back to this one almost 8 months after I started it, I'm already bored of the combat and battles. With only slightly different weapons, it feels like I've played this game three times now.

One of my favourites. There's a great version of it by The Chubbies on the Rocky Horror Punk Rock Show compilation.

I will say GoW has done nothing to improve on it's gameplay over the last 7 years or so, but they were entertaining. With that said though, DO NOT get Ascension unless it's $10 or less. Since you seem to be on the fence anyway, anything more than that is a ripoff. I've not actually finished the game and I pissed away $60 on it, and I'm more than a fair-weather GoW fan.

    In short, I hated Ascension

Okay, so since you apparently like RH as much as I do, have you ever seen Rolly Teranishi do any of the RHPS songs? In case you don't know who he is, he's a Japanese rock guitarist who's biggest inspiration is Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, and dresses up like Jack Skellington and plays RHPS songs live. He was also in the movie Suicide Club, which is abso-fucking-lutely fantastic.

There's an old vid for ya, He plays Frank n Furter on the Jap stage plays of RHPS. Check out some of his Scanch videos if you get a chance. He's also good friends with Marty Friedman from Megadeath - they do some serious guitar shredding in the land of the rising sun
