and actually, the Saturn iso torrent link would keep me from humping your bandwidth so much these 5th gen console games are getting pretty big and id like to knock out the last remaining 300gb of this hard drive and get this over with.

zorlon, thanks so much!!!!! that was golden! kinda bummed to hear about the xbox emu, not that my comp runs 6th gen consoles very well anyways. oh well.

garrendesares, this is just a thought, but I thought I saw that you were running windows 7. so am I, but ive been wondering what effect it would have if I reformatted to xp pro. I have a 32bit and 64bit version of that, and my comp is 64bit capable. the last time I ran the 64bit xp, it sucked because it was so incompatible with everything, but these days 64bit OS are much more popular. I was noticing that a good bit of these emus had 64bit versions. I don't use many of the new features of the windows 7 OS. that having been said, im a bit apprehensive about losing things it might be doing for me that I don't know about, like security features, etc and possibly losing some of the older PC games that I own and really like to play, like Madden 08 and The Sims 2 (and theres really no use in getting newer versions since my comp has enough trouble just keeping up with what ive got.) but, I do roll it around in my head from time to time...
acer aspire laptop (ugh), AMD Phenom II X4 N970 cpu, ATI Mobility Radeon HD4250 gfx card, 4GB DDR3 ram, Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n sound card, all games, emus, etc stored on a Toshiba 1.5TB external HD that connects via USB 3.0 (although the usb ports may only be 2.0, I dunno), Windows 7 Pro OS 32bit, Afterglow Dual-Shock wired controller for Xbox 360

I recently got the entire Dreamcast NTSC-U and PAL collection with in 1 wk that is over 300GB via torrents (that is every release of every game, for a project to help find the best dumps and show the bad dumps and none self boot dumps, that's still in WIP though)

As it happens the torrent site I was using for Wii games has gone now but GameCube I can get any game still

For your Laptop though stick to PSX, Dreamcast at a push, Saturn should be good, N64 should be OK for a lot of games as well PS2 and GameCube to Wii I wouldn't bother with, xbox isn't even emulated to any playable state.
DS might be ok for some games, GBA will be good.
Arcade should run ok to a point, a lot of the newer 3D arcade games will not play so well though
Amiga and Atari ST should work well for you
Anything older than the above should work as well

There are plenty of good Wii games out there, well over 500 good games out of well over 1000 games, like with any system there are a bunch of naff games as well as the good ones plus the advantage of Virtual Console games and a few good WiiWare games and GameCube backwards compat and the homebrew scene has plenty to offer as well in emulators for the Wii and Ports of game engines like Doom and ScummVM, oh ScummVM should run ok for most games on your system also if you happen to have GC pads you can use those with some Wii games instead of the Wii Mote+Nunchuck (depends on the game, but to name a few that can Resident Evil 4, Mario Kart and Smash Brothers)

A bonus for emulation though is that the light gun games for 16 bit and 8 bit consoles is emulated via the Wii Mote, this is good because you can't use a light gun on today's TV sets, but the wii Mote can act just like a light gun, apart from that you can use anything to control the games GC pad, WiiMote, WiiMote+Nunchuck or a Classic Controller
thanks for the info, i think i should have asked what i can emulate instead of asking about the gamecube.

Wow, I do exactly the same thing but with PC games as well (not going to go any further into PC warez)

A bit irrelevant, but I once got 3.5 MB/S while downloading a torrent with about 65-70 seeds; the usual speed is much slower (50-200 KB/S) so I agree with you on the public torrents opinion
    System Specs are Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1, i3-2310M @2.1GHz, 4GB Ram and 128MB Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Click the thanks button if I helped in any way!

Buy a xbox original and mod the beast (I would also grab a PSX to Xbox controller converter) pop in a new bigger IDE HDD and run the games from the internal HDD and emulate older systems on that I have SNES Megadrive PSX & N64 emulated on that and a bunch of acrade systems up to CPS3 oh and I play xbox games as well lol

As for older games on a newer system there are system emulators for example I have XP running through VMWare on my Windows 7 laptop, if you have higher versions of Windows 7 (Elite I think it is) there is also Virtual PC that you can get for free from Mircrosoft that also has WindowsXP for free with it, not sure how well games would run through those mind I haven't realy used either for games mostly for older software for making Dreamcast CD's and other tools like that made for Win98 and Dos
