I have a buddy of mine who calls everyone a nigger. Even if they're as white as he is. I've frequently answered calls from him and get a "What's up nigger?Relax, my nigga.
Although I don't speak for every black person, I personally did not take offence to it. The word is flung around like horseshit nowadays.
Imagine if he had a black person as a guest around his house as he was playing the game and the name popped up in front of them - it'd be an awkward feeling, right?
If he wants to go around saying that word, it's ok, he'll just have to brace himself for potential repercussions.
Of course this is the same guy who also moons people while I'm driving down the highway so I just tell everyone he has special needs
