I've always been interested in those System Shock games, but never played them.

If you don't mind the outdated graphics SS2 can be pretty damn creepy. You're walking around on an abandoned space station or whatever and things like this are after you:

There are texture packs out there for System Shock 2 (and deus ex too) to give the game a little more oomph
