By brotherhood I stopped caring about the story. One thing I love about the AC games is the setting, I don't know what I would feel about them being set in America in that time.
I find that I can get pretty addicted to them as well. I remember doing all the possible sidequests in both 2 and Brotherhood. And the setting has always been one of the main pulls for me as well, but I'm carefully optimistic about AC3.

And I still have a serious craving for an AC game with a Chinese setting.
