A nice little 12-year-old girl from California did a genealogy for a school project that takes mothers into account, since most are paternal. She found that every United States President is descended from the author of the Magna Carta, except for one. Also heard that Bush and Kerry were both descended from Vlad Tepes during that election cycle.
So yes, I vote.
And yes, I understand it doesn't make a real difference.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
When it comes to the lower forms of politicians (Senators, Congressmen, Governors, City Council,) it counts. Although you usually have to try to choose the lesser of two evils.
When it comes to electing Presidents the Popular vote (The average citizens vote) doesn't mean squat. It's the Electoral votes that elect presidents. So basically 538 people decide who gets to be President. Of which only 270 electoral votes are needed to win.
