Four hours of trains today. ._. Should have taken the shinkansen, probably, but expeeeeensive. Actually, the journey itself was kind of fun. It's like "into" in this case. So... like... "A tale of the battles of a land divided into three countries". I like your translation way better, though, even if it's slightly less literal. Basically the same meaning.

Oh. Oh! Thanks for clearing that up. It's just that I don't think I've ever heard that construction. If it was へ or　simply に for "into" I might've been able to make more sense of it.

I'm starting to realize that I'm terrible at doing literal translations. Every time I see Japanese I have the urge to use fancy English expressions to make it look cooler. I'm not sure how to feel about that.
