DVD discs seem a little slow compared to my slim PS2 but they work alright. Anything on a regular CD is a no go. Need to open the machine and clean it anyway so that might help. I might eventually try adjusting the laser, but only if it stops working completely. As long as it reads DVDs and rips them to a hard drive that was all I really wanted it for anyway.

did you adjust the speed to a higher level in the PS2 Slim?

Nah, never needed to. My slim was brand new a couple of years ago and works fine. No reason to mess with it if it isn't broken.

The one PS2 I bought new (silver slim) crapped out so fast. Fortunately I was able to dump it at a pawn shop. Didn't get nearly my money back but still better than what I would have heard if I contacted Sony. I've had nothing but fats now and they all work great (PS2 is still one of my most heavily played consoles).

Opened, cleaned and reading all discs like a charm. Hell of a lot quieter too. So happy it was something simple and I can pack my slim PS2 away.

Was it one of the early slims? Mine is (I think) the last model Sony made before they redesigned them yet again and switched to an internal power supply. I haven't had any issues but I keep hearing the early revisions were a bit finicky.

It was actually pretty late, at the point when the PS2 was dead. I decided to get back into PS2 again at the time (because cheap) and I just got a lemon. I can't even remember what drove me to get a new one. Last time I do that again with Sony.

    Default Pre-Orders!

I haven't Pre-Ordered anything yet but I am getting the money to Pre-Order a few things,

Wii U: Unlike most people I am super excited for this.
Zombi U: The exact reason why I want the Wii U so much,
Far Cry 3: Island, Drugs... Bows, what's not to like?
    Assassins Creed 3
    Tomb Raider
    Halo 4

and that's about it for now

Hmm, I doubt I'll post regularly in this thread, because I just can't be bothered But I have a few pre-orders right now, so why not~

Virtue's Last Reward - I gotta get myself a watch Pity only my Vita pre-order is coming with it
    Dragon's Crown
Mugen Souls Limited Edition - I'm not bothering with the figures though, I've never cared for figures. That useless sponge seems more interesting.
Persona 4: Solid Gold Premium Edition
Ni no Kuni: Wizard’s Edition - Yay for Namco allowing Canadian shipping, unlike the hoops I'm jumping through for Virtue's Last Reward's watch...

That's it for now. Plenty of other games I might get around to pre-ordering, but haven't yet. Maybe I'll wait for price drops, if no incentives come along...
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here
