Recently Watched Movies

I just watched Prometheus again. I really liked this movie, and I can't understand why so many people are raking this movie over the coals so badly. A lot of my buddies even hated it that I went to see it with the first time, and they couldn't give me a reason as to why. They just said it was "meh". I guess if you go into it expecting another Alien movie, then you might be a bit disappointed, but man this movie looks great, has some creepy parts in it and raises the tension in more than a few scenes. It answers some questions and it raises more, but I thought it was immensely satisfying. Anyone seen it??

Yeah, I thought it was decent too, and a lot of my friends were not happy with it as well. I'm not sure if I'm just being less critical, or what. Though I will admit, there was a lot of horror movie cliches in it and just some inconsistencies.

And I appreciate that the cartographer was the first one to get lost.

Yeah, there were some inconsistencies, but I can live with that. I was a big fan of the medical pod scene.

The Dictator.

It has its moments but as for the rest it's pretty low-brow slapstick. Only really good part was near the end when he explains why a dictatorship is beter than a democracy.

Just watched Prometheus. Nowhere near as good as Alien or Aliens, but still a pretty good blockbuster with some serious eye candy, and definitely the third best movie in the franchise for me. I don't really understand the hate it got from some fans. Reminded me a lot of the backlash that Xenosaga Episode 1 got when it was released and people found out that it wasn't actually a direct prequel to Xenogears, but more of a reimagining with lots of the same themes and some familiar faces / visuals. Even though in both cases the writers... you know... went to every length to make it clear that that was exactly what it was. You'd think people would learn to listen~
