I saw a few lols about the 3GS, but really as of right now the best I got is a iPod Nano 3rd gen and I intend for now at least to use the 3GS like a iPod touch (Mostly due to I think its still locked to AT&T USA although my friend could request the unlock code) so its a decent upgrade from the nano sides its free anyways

as for the "broken screen" HTC, actually it was the digitizer and was a £3 part so its not exactly a huge issue

Due to a real life situation most of my stuff is in storage and atm things show no signs of changing so all this "Obsolete" stuff is more welcomed to me

You shouldn't need an unlock code for the 3GS. Just use the newest Redsn0w and when jailbreaking it, use the ipad baseband to unlock it. Then you can use it on any GSM carrier.

I used Absyinth(sp) on mine, but I think it was specific to my firmware to make it untethered.
