What I meant was that Sony or Apple getting them, would be just as bad as the going away forever with none of their IPs getting passed on. The best thing to happen would be to get a good developer that doesn't have strong ties to any of the big three.

Also known as, "You're wrong, but I'm done arguing about it."

All because a company dissolves doesn't mean their IPs won't get passed on. They do sell IPs after companies file bankruptcy/dissolve, so the games won't be forever gone or better yet, all their older titles become public domain. Not likely to happen that last part, but you understand? You should have zero concern with what happens to EA.
Don't ya hate it when people neg rep you, but don't have the gall to tell you themselves?

EA needs to dissolve so Westwood can get C&C back.

Also would like to see Bioware without EA rushing all their games to completion!

I want both of these things, you have no idea.

    Especially after the ME3 debacle.

This. EA has a terrible habit of making companies crap out unfinished games. I'm actually a good acquaintance with American Mcgee who is the head of Spicy Horse. He was most known for the game Alice which became a huge cult classic. EA allowed him to make a second game which was the failed Alice Madness Returns. I followed all his updates with the game. His biggest issue is that EA demanded that he would cut out content because they wanted their release date. So all of London was mostly cut out. He killed off characters due to time issues, he removed weapons, a shitton of monsters in the game and most importantly all the boss battles that he had in the game he needed to cut out because the were not finished by the time of the release date. His team has only done PC games and EA wanted all platforms which also takes time. Poor man wanted to make the perfect game for the fans of the original and it was just ruined thanks to EA. :/

EA needs to realize the importance of quality. Take Bioshock Infinite for example, that game has been pushed back quite a bit because they want everyone to have a near perfect game in their hands. That's caring for their consumers. EA doesn't really show care or concern.

Oh American McGee! He has a special place in my heart, because he was a level designer for one of my favorite companies when they were starting out!

<3 Doom II was awesome. He did a really good job with it.

I wish he was able to stay with Id. EA owning the rights to Alice was probably a really bad move in the long run.

Bet John Romero wishes he was still there too.

Just great, now their going to be bought out by Microsoft of another huge corporation, further consolidating the market and stifling the need to come up with creative new ideas to foster competition. That's globalization for ya.
