I think the problem was just that by the time I played it, I had played so many games that did most of the things it does at least as well if not better than it did them. :'D I recognise that Ocarina is a big reason that games like that exist today, and that it changed the playing field for 3-D action adventure titles, and I can definitely appreciate how amazing it must have been to players at the time, but playing it for the first time six years-ish ago, I didn't really see much besides another good action-adventure game. Played most of it and enjoyed it well enough, but got distracted by something else toward the end, and ultimately didn't come away from it thinking much besides "Well, that was pretty good~".

Then again, my favourite Zelda game is Link's Awakening, so what do I know?

Well, I can understand that reasoning. But did you play Majora's Mask when it first came out? I secretly love that game a tad bit more than OoT.

I didn't play any N64 games during that era, outside of the odd spell at a friend's house. I never owned an N64. Actually, I didn't even play many of them through emulation. :'D By the time I had a computer powerful enough to emulate them, I was kind of on a "let's play RPGs in Japanese!" kick, and the N64 doesn't exactly fare very well on RPGs. Still want to go back and play through all the famous titles for it someday. :3

A N64 was my christmas present at 5, so yeah... I was hooked. (Call it the holy grail of gaming in my eyes) So I was the random kid everyone "knew" because we had Goldeneye and Super Smash Bros So I just kept up with the times.

I guess I got around to picking my own games at 7 and I loved Zelda Link to the Past, so I naturally followed up on that love. I love Link's Awakening, but I didn't play it until it was ported to the GBC with the color.
